National Women's History Month online resources

Here in the Beaufort District Collection we do our best to tie-in with local and national events. We are but a small cog, but we do participate in national efforts whenever possible.

Check out the web pages drawn from the collections in the The Library of Congress; National Endowment for the Humanities; National Gallery of Art; National Park Service; Smithsonian Institution; United States Holocaust Memorial Museum; and the U.S. National Archives and Records Administration, hosted by the Library of Congress, to celebrate Women's History Month.

Marvel at the variety of resources available to you in art, culture, and history - some with ties to Beaufort County!

For example, listen to the life story of Zora Neale Hurston, whose film "Commandment Keeper Church, Beaufort, South Carolina, May 1940" film) is being restored at the Library of Congress. The full Zorz Neale Hurston digital collection is found at http://www.loc.gov/loc/kidslc/live-zora.html.

Enjoy!
