ShakeOut: Be Prepared for the Next Big One!

Participate in the SouthEast ShakeOut, an earthquake preparedness drill, this Thurs., October 18th, at 10:18 am.  All you have to do is Drop. Cover. and Hold On for 60 seconds.  For details, visit The Great SouthEast ShakeOut website at http://www.shakeout.org/southeast/.

For the historically minded,  look at these two Connections entries http://beaufortdistrictcollectionconnections.blogspot.com/2012/10/southeast-shakeout-1018-at-1018-am.html and http://beaufortdistrictcollectionconnections.blogspot.com/2011/08/125-years-ago-today-earthquake.html to learn more about the effect that the Charleston Earthquake had locally and nationally.

Still not convinced or don't want to look foolish: Even if you do not physically take part in the drill, please take a moment to look around your setting for the place that you would crawl under - should the need arise.  Proper preparation is a goodly portion of survivability.
