All Aboard! The Model Trains Are On Their Way

For more than two decades (aka "a score" as in Abraham Lincoln's Gettysburg Address 'Four score and seven years ago...') the Beaufort Railroaders have been setting up and sharing their model train sets with the community at Beaufort Branch Library. This year is no exception.

The Beaufort Railroaders Model Train Club will present its 24th annual Christmas Train Show at the Beaufort Branch of the Beaufort County Library System December 13th through 17th.

On exhibit will be several different scales of model and toy train layouts, large and small, some with realistic themes and some pretty fanciful. The train show is a Christmas tradition, and has been enjoyed over the years by thousands who appreciate detailed modeling, action, lights, color, fun and nostalgia.

For the photos from last year’s show, visit www.beaufortcountylibrary.org/trains.

The trains will be available for viewing at the Beaufort Branch Library (311 Scott Street, Beaufort, SC 29902) at the following times:

  • Tuesday, December 13th 9:00am-6:00pm
  • Wednesday, December 14th 9:00am-6:00pm
  • Thursday, December 15th 9:00am-6:00pm
  • Friday, December 16th 9:00am-6:00pm
  • Saturday, December 17th 9:00am-5:00pm
As an extra special treat on Wednesday, December 14th, we are hosting Santa Claus's right hand man, Jack Gannon. He'll be sharing his memories and images of his 23 years helping out old Nick here in Beaufort County. He will be happy to sell you a copy of his book and autograph it as well. (Please note: This program is not for children. Jack will be appearing as local author Jack, not as Santa substitute Jack.)
No registration: First come, first seated. Limited space. Seating begins at 4:40 pm.
