October 2008 is American Archives Month! Libraries, museums and archives across the country are planning special exhibits and events to highlight the importance of historical collections…and South Carolina is no exception!
The goal of
South Carolina museums, libraries, archives and other institutions during Archives Month is to highlight the “gems” of their document and historical collections and reach out to their patrons and communities. To find out more about Archives Month 2008 special events and exhibits, please visit
http://scarchivesmonth.palmettohistory.org/ and plan a visit to your local museum, archives, or library.
Support for Archives Month 2008 is provided to South Carolina institutions and organizations by the South Carolina State Historical Records Advisory Board (SC SHRAB). To learn more about Archives Month and SC SHRAB, please visit http://www.state.sc.us/scdah/shrab/shrab1.htm.
