Feb. 19 -- By happenstance, a year ago, the book Tombee: Portrait of a Cotton Planter by Theodore Rosengarten was chosen as the February 2009 selection for the Beaufort Branch Library Book Club.
Tombee: Portrait of a Cotton Planter examines the life and times of Thomas B. Chaplin, plantation owner, as seen through his edited journals, 1845 - 1861, 1886. Join the Book Club on Thurs., Feb. 19, 2009 at 5:30pm in the Children’s Programming Room of Beaufort Branch Library, 311 Scott Street. Supplemental materials from the holdings of the BDC will be on display during the Book Club. I am the presenter and discussion leader for the session, so call me at 470-6525 if you have questions.
The Library has copies of Tombee in our local history sections at the branch libraries under call number B Chaplin.
