"Picturing America"

Look up and at the end of the book shelves when you walk through the doors of the Beaufort Branch Library at 311 Scott Street.

The National Endowment for the Humanities and the American Library Association teamed up to offer "Picturing America" grant to schools and libraries throughout the country. "Picturing America" lets us engage with our cultural heritage, politics, and history in a new way. From Native American baskets to iconic photographs, presidential portraits to 17th century silver teapots, landscapes to bridges, the arts selected cover the entire American experience. The online component of Picturing America supplements the posters on display throughout the Beaufort Branch Library.

Amanda Brewer, one of the Beaufort Branch Reference Librarians, did the paperwork to get the Picturing America materials.
