Staff is temporarily reduced to 1/2 our usual contingent from May 18th - May 25th.
Hourly employees must be given the opportunity to get a lunch break according to Federal Labor laws.
Therefore, the Beaufort District Collection Research Room must be closed during lunch, Noon to 1 pm to comply on these dates:
Wednesday, May 18th
Thursday, May 19th
Friday, May 20th
Monday, May 23rd
Tuesday, May 24th
Wednesday, May 25th
You'll be quite welcome to visit the Research Room from 10 am until Noon, then go grab a bite to eat or stroll around the waterfront while Charmaine goes to lunch. The Research Room will re-open at 1 pm and stay open until 5 pm those affected dates (barring anything unforeseen, of course).
Customary hours of operation, that is, 10 am - 5 pm, resume Thursday, May 26th and Friday, May 27th.
All Beaufort County offices, including the Beaufort County Library system, will be closed on Monday, May 30th to honor Memorial Day.
Come Tuesday, May 31st, we expect to resume customary hours. This, too, however, is subject to potential change. We will do our best to keep you as informed as we are.
