Photos from "Dancin Wid We" New Harmonies Program

The Gullah/Geechee Sea Island Coalition has posted images from Queen Quet's "Dancin Wid We" performance on Tuesday night. Click here to view the images.

As you can see, attendees at the program became participants in the program! We librarians love it when our customers engage so directly in our program opportunities.

A Heads Up: February is Black History Month. Although both the Queen and the BDC show that every month is Black History Month for us, she has agreed to kick off the Library system's observance. Queen Quet will be sharing her Gullah musical roots as part of the Lunch & Listen series on Wed., Feb. 1st at the Technical College of the Lowcountry. The presentation begins at Noon. Her topic is "Livin' Music: A Gullah/Geechee Journey of Harmony." You may want to go ahead and pencil this opportunity to learn more about an integral part of the fabric that is Beaufort District.
