We are, after all, dedicated to acquiring, maintaining, preserving and sharing a research collection of permanent value about the history, culture and natural environment of our local area. While we provide support for genealogical research conducted by customers through our collection and research consultations, our major focus is getting the most out of limited resources - which often means that we share what we've found online with you.
A budding genealogist has many online sources available to them. Some are free; some are fee-based. Some of the best free online guides are on the FamilySearch website. FamilySearch is provides a wider array of research assistance at no charge to anyone.
It has over 500 online courses and a research wiki with over 66,000 articles on topics of genealogical interest.
Live help is available, as well as Facebook and Skype groups. One can narrow a search by Place; Skill Level; Subject; Format; or Language. Go to http://FamilySearch.org/learn to explore your options.
Proquest, the provider of Ancestry Library Edition, offers open registration to live online trainings in which you can participate from your home or office. Follow the instructions to register.

There's also access to recorded past sessions if you'd prefer the convenience of listening and viewing a training session on your own schedule.
Of course, there are plenty of other genealogy-related websites on the open web for exploration.
