Civil War Era Photography and Equipment Presentation

CIVIL WAR ERA PHOTOGRAPHY AND EQUIPMENT WITH DR. ROBERT LISLE

Tuesday, Sept. 10 at 6pm
Beaufort District Collection, 311 Scott St, 2nd Floor Lobby

Photography was just 20 years young when rumblings of the upcoming Civil War could be heard about the country. The photographic recording of this tragic American conflict was the work of some 300 men whose images captured the faces, places and events for the world to see. This brief presentation focuses on several select photographers and their pictures and how they made them. Also on display will be some of the actual tools of the photographic trade during the Civil War era, a few of which will remain on display in the Beaufort District Collection Research Room display case through the rest of September.
