BHM/BCL Local History Series Continues

As soon as we return from the Thanksgiving holidays, we delve back into providing high quality history related programs. The Library is closed Thursday, Nov. 24 and Friday, Nov. 25th for the Thanksgiving holidays.

Since November is Native American Heritage Month, Beverly Eggert will share poetry, myths, and trickster tales of Native Americans. Be sure to register: https://beauforthistorymuseum.wildapricot.org/event-2369316

We're still catching up with programs previously scheduled for October. Hurricane Matthew took out our "What the Heck Is It?" artifact identification session and the program about "The Anchorage." We held "What the Heck Is It?" on Sat., November 19th with great success. (Be sure to check out the images on our Facebook page) Beverly Eggert will present "The Anchorage" on Thurs., Dec. 8th at 2:00 pm. (Beaufort History Museum has tweaked the registration process so be sure to register: https://beauforthistorymuseum.wildapricot.org/event-2346622

We close out 2016 with a visit from Santa surrogate, Jack Gannon, on Wed., Dec. 14th at 5 pm. He'll share memories and images of his 22+ years as Santa's right hand man here in Beaufort County. This is a "First Come, First Seated" event with no registration. We have room for about 40 people in the 2nd floor Gallery just outside the Research Room door and we will start seating people at 4:40pm. Copies of I Walked in Santa's Boots will be available for purchase and autographing at the conclusion of the program. Be sure to come early and take in the Beaufort Railroaders model trains on the First Floor before heading upstairs to stroll along with Jack's memories.

All the programs above are free of charge to any and all who would like to attend.
