May 2017 Schedule

We have some schedule changes this month due to renovation, staff loss, and the Reconstruction Planning grant. Please pencil these dates and times into your calendars. We'd hate for you to come on a day that we'll be closed for business. So in the spirit of keeping the public informed about our hours of operation this month:


The Beaufort Branch is getting some long awaited carpet beginning May 12th. Although the Beaufort Branch will be closed May 12 - May 20, Library Administration, Technical Services, the IT department, and the Beaufort District Collection will be operating on our usual schedules and performing our usual duties. Read the press release about the carpet installation.

The BDC will be open its usual public service hours: Friday, May 12th - 9 to 5; Monday, May 15th - 9 to 5; Thursday, May 18th - 9 to 5; and Friday, May 19th - 9 to 5. If you are interested in setting up an appointment for Tuesday, May 16th or Wednesday, May 17th be sure to contact me at least several days in advance gracec@bcgov.net or 843-255-6468 regarding available research slots.

Please Note: As of May 19th, the BDC staff is temporarily cut in half so there will be no one here to cover the Research Room while I am away at the Reconstruction Planning grant symposium for 2 days. Therefore, due to staff shortage, the BDC Research Room will be closed on Mon., May 22nd and Tues., May 23rd.

Beaufort County government will be closed Mon., May 29th to observe Memorial Day.
