WHEREAS, the Beaufort County Library Bookmobile provides library services to citizens of Beaufort County in rural areas of a geographically far-flung county in fair weather and foul, and
WHEREAS, Bookmobile service provides a flexible and effective alternative to costly established library facilities in scattered rural areas, offering reading materials for both educational and entertainment purposes, and
WHEREAS, all citizens throughout Beaufort County may not be aware and County Council wishes to inform them of the services offered by the Beaufort County Bookmobile, and
WHEREAS, we acknowledge that were it not for this service provided by the Beaufort County Bookmobile, there would be large segments of our population who would not have easy access to books,
NOW, THEREFORE, I, William L. McBride, Chairman of County Council of Beaufort County, do proclaim this month of May, 1983 BOOKMOBILE AWARENESS MONTH for Beaufort County and urge all citizens to take advantage of the services offered by the Bookmobile by contacting the public library for information and by visiting the Bookmobile, if possible, during the month of May.
