The biggest thing we're doing this month is celebrating Lafayette 200 - along with the Historic Beaufort Foundation and other community groups. The celebration runs from March 1 - March 18 with the Library's contributions happening on March 6, 12, and 18. You can read about our plans in another Connections post. Registration opens today for the free - but space limited - Library programs in honor of the Lafayette visit: 843-255-6441.
After the Lafayette 200 celebration is done and dusted, we will host historical interpreter, Peggy Pickett as she channels Eliza Lucas Pinckney to tell us how she "fought" the American Revolution on the home front.
Because it's Women's History Month, we're featuring Women Educators in the "Uniquely BDC" and "Black History Notes" posts on Facebook, too. Don't be surprised by an occasional reference to "something" Irish either.
