Annelore Harrell: Author Book Talk on Wednesday

We're hosting longtime Bluffton resident Annelore Harrell on Wednesday at the Beaufort Branch. I am going to interview her a bit to get the program started - and you too can ask questions of your own about her book, life and career. I expect that Mrs. Harrell will read some of her award-winning newspaper columns from Bluffton Today, Carolina Morning News, Bluffton Sun and Hilton Head Sun during the Author Book Talk.

Patti Callahan Henry lauds Harrell's writing as "A treasure trove of insight, offering a fresh perspective on the essence of the people, places, and things she has chosen to share."

JSYK: This program is the last of the standalone BDC@ The Branches session of Season 22-ish?. (I really can't remember quite when I started doing local history programs but it was probably about 2002 or 2003.)

It's going to be awhile before the BDC hosts another local history program. In fact the next program won't happen until we enter Fiscal Year 2026 - because the BDC's performance goals were smashed this fiscal year - and good research deserves to be used more than once. It also has a "colorful" title to fit in with the Summer Reading Program's theme of "Color My World."
Heads up: We have a few schedule changes. The County is replacing some of the floor coverings on the 2nd floor next Wednesday through Friday. Physical access to the BDC Research Room will be restricted during the installation process. BDC staff will be working remotely or at other locations during the three days. Reminder: The Library will be closed on Monday, May 26th for Memorial Day.
