Winter Speaker Series HHI Chapter, Archaeology Society

I received a notice just this morning about the ASSC/HHI Chapter, Winter Speaker Series. Many of our readers are interested in the Native Americans who once inhabited this area. You have a good opportunity to listen to an expert tomorrow.

Dr. Eric Poplin will be speaking about the Yamassee at the Coastal Discovery Museum at Honey Horn on Tuesday, Feb. 17th at 7:00pm. The local meetings of the Hilton Head Island Chapter of the Archaeological Society of SC are free and open to the public.

Other upcoming ASSC/HHI events include:
February 28 -- Tybee Island Lighthouse and Fort Screven Field Trip

March 17 -- Speaker Alex Sweeney - the Altamaha

March 28 — Field Trip to Altamaha Town, GA

April 4th -- Annual State Archaeology Conference at USC in Columbia, SC. Admission fee.
