Final Days: Shaping of South Carolina Exhibit

There are only a few days left to learn about the 450 year long struggle to determine South Carolina's boundaries with Georgia and North Carolina. Drop by the Research Room, 10 am to 5 pm the rest of this week to see this informative and educational panel exhibit on loan to us since October 1, 2014  from the South Carolina Historical Society. The exhibit closes Friday, January 30th at 5:00 pm.

Here are a few comments written in the exhibit register:
We are soon moving to Beaufort from Chicago. It was fascinating to read of the early history of the Carolinas.
I really enjoyed the maps!  (There are 6 original maps included in the exhibit; 3 from the South Carolina Historical Society and 3 from our own holdings.)
This exhibit shows that a tremendous effort went into its planning. Thank you.
Now I know what a Gunter's chain is!

We hope to see you by Friday!
