Free eBooks

Kindles, Nooks, and Sony Readers, oh my!  eBooks will be coming to Beaufort County Library during the summer.  (I'll share the specific date when I learn of it.)  While you're waiting, though, you can explore these sources of ebooks recommended by The Library Resources Group.  Anyone, anywhere, with an internet connection can checkout these ebooks for their personal ebook reader. 

Please note: The completeness of eBook versions vary widely.  Some of the e-titles are "preview." Some sites offer only a  "snippet" of the printed books.  Even fewer sites offer free complete and unabridged eBook titles. In general, the older the printed title, the more likely the e-version will be available somewhere as a complete and unabridged eBook.

Google Books
Through Google's Library Project, books in the public domain, and therefore out of copyright, can be read online and even downloaded and read offline. An advanced search allows for limiting to full view only.

ManyBooks.net
Over 29,000 titles available in many formats and languages. search by author, title, genre or language.

Munseys
Collection of fiction titles available in several digital formats.
Project Gutenberg
Allows for download of over 33,000 free e-books all digitized with the help of volunteers.
