Beaufort County Council proclaimed October 17 - 23 "Beaufort County Friends of the Library Week," on Oct. 11th along with its proclamation of the month of October as "Archaeology Month." (Public governing bodies seem to like proclaiming, don't they? Oye! Oye!)
Comedienne Paula Poundstone, a Friend of her library, recommends that you consider joining a Friends of the Library (FOL, for short) group in this short public service ">announcement.
Here in Beaufort County Library, you have three Friends of the Library groups from which to choose.

If you've been reading Connections for any time at all, you are aware of how crucial the support of the "Friends of the Beaufort County Library" serving the branch libraries North of the Broad River was to the recent relocation of the Beaufort District Collection. Through the years, the FOBCL have funded program opportunities for customers, digital management training for BDC staff, cabinetry,furniture, hurricane shutters, vertical files, etc. for the BDC. We would not be where we are today without their sustained moral and financial support.
