Focusing on local history, Gullah culture, genealogy, natural history, and archaeology of lowcountry South Carolina's historic Beaufort, Hampton and Jasper counties.
Native
daughter, Mary Stanley Bunce Palmer Dana Shindler (a.k.a. Mary S. B.
Dana) is the perfect person to transition from National Women's History
in March into National Poetry Month in April. Shindler was a woman of
character, courage and commitment who poured out her grief and faith in
religious poetry, many of which became the text for 19th century hymns.
